Peach tree - Maintain Charts of Accounts

Firstly we chose a Peach tree software and a window appear on the screen “Peach tree accounting “ here you chose open and existing company option and click on existing company option


After this when you press on existing company option then new slide appear on the screen “open an existing company here some option appear on the window and you chose the “Brows “button when you chose brows button new slid or window show on screen “open company “   


here you go to the “drive “ option and select an drive where you save the existing company file for example  Z  drive “ 
When you chose drive here some directories appear and you chose one 0027 when you double click on the drive new slide appear “Peach tree today welcome


Here you chose that drive where you save your existing company


When this slide appear on the upper side of that slide some bar or icon are present in this you chose “maintain “option and click on it





After chose maintain some option appear on screen here you chose charts of accounts option



When you click maintain option here new slide show on screen its “maintain charts of account “


In this window you write all the “ account id “ its “ description “ and “ account type after fill all this columns press the “Alt “ key and “S” key to save the accounts and go to the next Column chose your charts of account save in the drive .

If you want to change account type, id or description then click on search button and double click on the account that you required to change then change the following and click on save button your account will save


 To see the Accounts that you saved in the Chart of Accounts click on the “Reports” button which was in the tool bar


Now click on the forth option that was “General Ledger” the new window will appears named as “Select a report” in this window “Double click” on the “Chart of Accounts”


The new window shows you the Name and detail of your company. Where you can see all the data you saved previously in the Maintain chart of account. This window shows you the “Account ID” “Account description” “Active” and “Account Type”



Maintain beginning balances
to maintain charts of account you required following steps go to maintain menu and click on charts of account.

a new window will appear on screen here you fill all charts of accounts.and also fill all column.


after all accounts enter than click on beginning balance a new window will appear here you will select period when you enter data mean beginning balances and than click on OK button




after click on OK button a new window will appear named as charts of accounts beginning balances before enter data we check that we enter retained earning or not if no than enter retained earning account because without it software not accept data if balances enter correctly than trail balance equal to zero

Setup of Peachtree account


Setup of Peachtree account
Firstly we open Peachtree account and we see that a window appear in the screen

Secondly after this we click on open “setup a new company “when we click on this new window appears on screen new” company setup introduction”


In this window 5 steps appear in the screen first step is you mention company name and address and here we establish a new company then we specify a company name foe example (0027) and also mention address

In 2nd step you mention the charts of accounts of the company in this sometimes we copy the charts of existing company and often we establish our own company’s charts of accounts
In 3rd step your accounting method we chose one method for our company basically
 Two accounting method use
·       Accrued
·       Cash
4th step your posting method here we chosse one method for our company
·       Real time
·       Batch
And last 5th step your accounting pertiod here we choose time it might be 12 month or less or more than 12
And after all of this if you want help than click help buton and if not than click on continue

And when we press on next then new window appear




When new window appear than fill the following columns you must fill the name and address columns if you not filled it than you can not go to the next window after all the information press the next button go to the next window
After this window new window appear “CHARTS OF ACCOUNTS “


Here you mention all the charts of accounts properly firstly you chose one option and than post the all charts of that company charts of accounts also present online you copy and paste it and click the next button


After this window new window of “accounting period appear”
Here you chose one accounting period for your company one is “ accrued “ and other one is “ cash “ after choosing click on next button


Next window of “posting method appears” here you also chose one method one is “real time “and one is “batch “and then click next button

Next accounting period window appear here you chose one accounting period if you choose 12 month accounting period then click option one and if you choose more then 12 month then click on option 2 and click on next button for go to next window


In next window you chose the” monthly accounting period “in first column fiscal year already selected after this you select first month when your business enter and click next button


After this last window appears that is “congratulation “here this window that you complete the whole process and your company formed in “Peachtree “account and click the “finish button “
